Course Overview

Ce cours porte sur des enjeux géographiques actuels qui influent sur la vie des Canadiennes et Canadiens et la communauté mondiale. L’élève puise dans son quotidien et ses expériences personnelles pour explorer le thème de la durabilité à travers des questions comme les ressources en eau et en nourriture, l’utilisation des sols et le rapport à l’environnement. L’étude de ces questions dans le contexte canadien est élargie au contexte mondial, ce qui aide l’élève à prendre conscience de leur interdépendance. Tout au long du cours, l’élève utilise les concepts de la pensée critique en géographie et le processus d’enquête, incluant des technologies spatiales, pour soutenir sa réflexion et acquérir les compétences qui lui sont nécessaires pour faire des choix responsables et s’affirmer en qualité de citoyenne ou citoyen du Canada et du monde.
